I am pregnant. Should I take iodine tablets in the event of a nuclear accident following government advice?

The chance of a nuclear accident happening in the Netherlands is very small. But if you are pregnant and live near a nuclear power plant, it is wise to have iodine tablets in your home. Iodine tablets are important for pregnant women. By taking iodine tablets after a nuclear accident, you protect your unborn child from radioactive iodine. Taking the tablets is not dangerous to the unborn child. Do not take the pills until directed to do so by the government. For more info www.rijksoverheid.nl
