Childbirth
Most babies are born around the due date. On the due date, you are 40 weeks pregnant, according to our calculation.

A baby born between 37 and 42 weeks is on time. If labor begins before the 37th week we need to refer you to the hospital and the same is true after the 42nd week. Additional care and monitoring of the baby is needed before the 37th week. Around the 42nd week, labor is often started with medication, because if you wait longer the risks of being late gradually increase. Labor usually begins with the onset of contractions (90%) or broken membranes (10%). The first omen may be some mucus and blood loss, with some abdominal pain. These are the first signs. Once you feel these, just wait and see what happens before taking big action since these effects can have different causes and do not necessarily have to mean the start of childbirth.
